Ever feel like we're asking the wrong questions in sales conversations?

Ever feel like we're asking the wrong questions in sales conversations?
I was chatting with Adam Hannemann the other day, and something clicked.
Most MSP Sales conversations start with: "What tech issues are you dealing with?"
That's like showcasing the scratches on your own used car 🚗 before anyone even asks.
That's hella uncomfortable 🩹
Here's a different angle: What if the first conversation wasn't about tech at all?
What if it's just about being in business or being human?
Try this instead:
✅ Ask what's really on their mind that day. Maybe they need a dog sitter.
✅ Bring something unexpected and useful, like a free BYOD policy template.
✅ Lead with curiosity & empathy, not arbitrary solutions you suggest to all prospects.
Stop 🛑 the sales pitches... use trust builders.
Because:
People remember who helped, not who pitched.
✅ Sales follow trust, not the other way around. 🤝
What's a small gesture that's made a big impact in your sales conversations?
Tell me about small things that impacted You 📩
I'd love to hear it!
